Get Involved

Clothing insecurity often leads to severe health consequences, such as exposure to harsh weather, infection, and mental health illnesses. With your help, we strive to expand access to adequate and appropriate clothing to all families and individuals in the Capital Region.

Give Clothing and Basic Goods

Have gently used clothing or new basic goods essentials that you'd like to donate to support the families and individuals in need living in the Capital Region? Schedule a pick-up or drop-off today! 

Accepted Items:

We only accept items that are in good condition, ensuring that those who receive them can feel confident and comfortable. Please no rips, stains, excessive wear, or controversial or inappropriate sayings or gestures. All toiletries must be brand new or never used.

New and gently used clothing

​All Sizes (We are especially in need of men's clothing)

Infant & toddler sizes newborn – 3T

Tops: tank tops, short sleeve, long sleeve, sweaters, hoodies, outerwear

Bottoms: shorts, jeans, pants, sweatpants, capris, leggings/activewear

 

New full sized toiletries

 

Hygiene: shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, soap, toothbrushes, toothpastes, shaving products, menstrual products, textured hair products

NEW socks and undergarments

We accept all sizes of underwear, bras and socks (youth, teen, adult)

New or gently used shoes

All sizes accepted

 

Other items we accept

 

Accessories, school supplies, backpacks/duffel bags, jewelry, formal wear, career wear

Uniforms, baby supplies

 

WE DO NOT ACCEPT TOYS, FURNITURE, BOOKS, OR HOUSEHOLD GOODS

Host a Drive

Host a drive with your friends, family, and colleagues and collect even more products for Capital Region Community Resource, Inc. Please reach out if you'd like help with promotion!

Donation Sorting/Organizing

Capital Region Community Resource receives a large amount of clothing donations from community members and other supporting organizations. To help organize and sort through these items, we host a Sort Party twice a year. Reach out to be a part of our next sort party!

Host a Free Pop-Up Shop

Volunteer to host one of our monthly pop-up shops! Each month, they are hosted at different locations and times to make it easier for you to choose when and where is most convenient for you! We provide everything you need - table, chairs, items, table cloth, and more - you just need to show up and show out!

Event Support

Give your time at one of our events! Support ranges from event set-up/break down, tabling, greeting, and more. You tell us what you love to do, and we'll find a place for you!

Give Money

Provide those in need with sufficient and quality clothing and basic needs essentials with a monetary gift. Your support helps to ensure that we can continue to provide free access to items everyone, regardless of income, deserves. 

$50 provides undergarments like socks and underwear to 25 families. 

$100 provides basic needs essentials and toiletries to 50 families.

$250 provides basic school supplies to 100 families.

$500 provides a year worth of clothing to a family of 5. 

Give Monthly

By making a monthly contribution, you can help us provide clothing and basic needs to hundreds of families in the Capital Region. Your contribution goes directly towards costs associated with our annual community events, rapid response program, and our community closet pop-ups.

Subsriptions start as low as $5.
